Imported goods indicate that Biarescie had trade connections with Padniaproŭje (Kyiv trade centre), Volhynia, the Black Sea coastal area, the Caucasus, the east, and the Baltic and Western European lands. The existence of these connections is confirmed by unearthed counting tally sticks and lead seals that were hung to the bales of goods, as well as chronicles of grain being sent via caravans from Biarescie to the lands of the Yotvingians.
