Many finds indicate that bone carving handicrafts were developed in Biarescie. The materials used were horns and bones of elks, deer, aurochs, roe deer, and domestic animals. Horn was particularly popular for its ease of treatment, homogeneity of structure, and viscosity. The main instruments of a bone carver were a saw, ax, knife, gimlet, cutter, file, and lathe. The use of these tools is evidenced by found workpieces, both semi-finished and finished items.
